The Combat Vets Motorcycle Association (CVMA) is hosting their annual All Patriots Ride on Saturday, August 28. This is NOT a poker run. The purpose of this ride is to collect warm clothes, blankets, gloves, etc. for distribution to homeless and disadvantaged Veterans throughout the state. I am attaching a copy of the flyer and would like to request you add this event to the calendar on the kyrides website.
The ride will be on Saturday, August 28 and will leave the VFW Post 680 on Leestown Rd in Lexington at 10:00 am and travel to Wilmore, Ky where we will spend a bit of time visiting with Veterans at the Thompson Hood Veterans' Nursing Home. From there we will travel some beautiful central Kentucky roads in route to the Healing Field in Lawrenceburg. For those of you not familiar with this memorial, it is the only permanent healing field in nation. It is a very touching memorial with full-sized flag poles for every Kentucky Soldier that has perished in this current war...quite an amazing tribute to those that have sacrificed all for our great Country! There will be a brief ceremony about the memorial followed by lunch provided by the American Legion Post 34 Ladies' Auxiliary. The next leg of our journey will take us to Frankfort Kentucky and a stop at the Vietnam Memorial, another amazing memorial to our Fallen Soldiers. We will finish the ride back at the VFW Post 680 in Lexington where the Ladies' Auxiliary there will be providing burgers and all that good stuff.
Needless to say, this will be a day full of "Veterans - and Friends - Helping Veterans" in more ways than one and we look forward to a great turnout for this very worthy event!
We really want to bring in the clothing items this year so we're not scrambling at the last minute trying to find things to keep our homeless and disadvantaged Veterans warm when the temps drop down in those freezing temps in a few months!! So any assistance you can provide in getting the word out would be greatly appreciated!!!

How Much: $10.00 per Bike $5.00 per Poker hand
Heart Transplant Benefit Poker Run/Ride will be a 40 mile Country ride.
The ride will included Nolin Lake/River and Rough River State Parks.
We will have 5 poker stops at each stop you will draw out at Poker card.
At the end of ride we will see who has the winning hand.
All bike enter fee will be 100% donation to the Benefit.
The poker hand pot will be divided into 1st, 2nd, 3rd place hands.
Direction from Louisville: I-65 South to Western Kentucky Parkway (WKPY) take the WKPY exit toward Paducah
Stay on the WKPY until you reach Leitchfield/Brownsville exit #107.
Get off at Leitchfield/Brownsville exit stay in the left lane.
At the stop sign you will make a left hand turn, you are now on Hwy 259 south.
Stay on Hwy 259 south until you come to a Stop the road will make a "T" on your right you will see Smitty City Store.
Make a right you are back on Hwy 259 south.
Follow this about 13 miles you will see Lonesome Dove Bait Tackle and More on you left.
General Directions: Western Kentucky Parkway to Leitchfield/Brownsville exit go towards the Nolin Lake State Park.
When you come to a "T" in the road you will go towards Nolin State Parkway.
About 13-15 mile you will see Lonesome Dove Bait Tackle and More on you left.
We are across from Moutardier Camping Grounds.
